We haven't released DataZoomer yet but if you would like
to contribute in any way, please enter your e-mail for an
invitation. We would love to have you aboard.
Is it Open Source?
Yes. It is being released under the GPL.
What is it?
DataZoomer is a fast, light weight, scalable application development
framework that makes developing full blown dynamic web sites and applications ridiculously easy.
Why are we doing this?
We think that in spite of all the great work that has been done, developing dynamic web sites is a pain. There are just too many things to do and think about to develop web applications.
Hasn't this already been done?
Not really. There are lots of web application frameworks out there that solve part of the problem and there are even a few that supply all the parts that you need to develop full blown web applications. DataZoomer goes a step farther by actually supplying some or all of the applications you need to develop your dynamic web site.
Why Python?
We think that Python is the ideal programming language for collaborative web development because it is a modern object oriented language, it is dead simple to learn and yet has the power to perform, it's syntax encourages readability and collaboration and it's a very well supported, established language.
How can I help?
We are taking e-mail addresses for people who are interested
in contributing. We are looking for programmers, writers
and graphic artists. When we are ready we'll contact you and
tell you what you need to do.
We are in the early stages so we are still very flexible and you can have a big impact if you want to.
We are using Python for development
so if you don't already know that you could have a look at
it. We recommend
